Being Independent
Independence is..
Depending on yourself.
Trusting your own ability, having faith in your own strength.
It is to take control.
Staying true to what you believe is best.
It is not the absence of fear.
Neither is it the equivalence of loneliness.
It is a liberation.
Freedom.
Independence.
Claim it. Own it. Live it.

When I Blog, You Read
Two blog posts weekly.
I promise myself.
I mean, I got to. Seriously.
I keep talking about it every year, and somehow I never truly got down to it.
*hangs head in shame*
But now, it's gonna be different. *fistpumpandlookintothedistance*
*Adds onsuper cute selca pic to seal it in*
On a side note, its superrr superrr cold these days!
Walking to work in the morning is plain torturous.
2 degree celsius! Brrrr..
As I am sure most Malaysians would know,
the one word that is trending right now is.. *drumrolls*
LISTEN. Listen Listen Listen Listen Listen LISTEN!
For those of you who watched the video,
Iknow assume that you feel the same kind of emotions that were stirred within me.
Annoyance, Anger, Shame, and most of all, Disappointment.
How is it possible that this happens at an institution of Higher Education?
What did she mean, specifically, when she talks about respect yet goes on to humiliate a young student in front of 2300 others?
While one may say that Bawani (the young student) was a little rude to start with,
this does not give that "Ms." Sharifah the right to do whatever she did.
Really? To interrupt and disallow the student to finish?
To move away her microphone and to demand that everyone listen?
Really? To say it in the poor girl's face that she has the "least of pendidikan"?!
Wtf?!
She has to learn basic respect I tell you!
And we're not even gonna talk about her speech and reply.
Animals? Like whaaaaaaaat?
We cannot compare Malaysia to other countries,
but we're supposed to compare ourselves to animals?
*deepbreaths*
What do we learn from this story?
Respect. Respect. Respect.
And this applies to both parties in the story.
Perhaps Sharifah felt disrespected, both as a lecturer and an "adult".
Perhaps that was why she kicked into the whole "I speak, you listen" frenzy.
As Asians, especially Chinese,
we hold on to our values of respecting the elders.
And as much as I agree with this virtuous practice,
I urge each and everyone of us to be able to discern between those who deserve respect, and those who need to learn what respect is before deserving it!
Simple rule, if you don't respect yourself, you sure as hell won't be expecting respect from anyone else.
I dedicate my first blog post of the year to you, Sharifah Johra Zabeen.
I sincerely hope you come to understand what the Malaysian society sees you as,
and to take this opportunity to learn what respect is.
And of course, to apologize, if you would.
Greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
From all Malaysians, and animals.

Happy New Year 2013
I've got so many things to blog about.
But as usual, words fail me when ideas exceed its normal capacity.
#bloggerproblems
In layman terms, so many things to say dunno how to say lah..
LOL
Usually at this point, I would resolve to editing pictures,
and to let them do the talking.
Unfortunately,
I've got so many pictures I dunno where to start :(
So.. I know you're thinking: So what now?
Wan blog or not?
Wantt.. But maybe I'll do a longer one tomorrow. Haha.
Short updates:
1. Back to work! Trying hard to be really enthusiastic.
2. New Year Resolutions still in the making, but the usuals: Live life to the fullest! Exceed my own expectations! Lalala~ Have you done yours?
3. Excited to be planning my summer break back in Malaysia! Should be 90% confirmed? :D
So anyway, know that it'll be a great year ahead! And it's up to us whether to make the best out of it.
Much Loves.
xoxo

My Ball Of Happiness
Quick Update!
Time passes so quickly when you're having a good time! :x
My ball of happiness is here with me,
all the way from Malaysia,
and I could not ask for a better Christmas present!
So I blame her for me distracting me too much!
Did not even realize how dead and quiet my blog was.
Finally done with the semester.
It's happysad, really.
Happy cos I'm done and it wasn't bad at all.
Sad cos I have to start focusing on my thesis!
*cringe*
My past week in pictures..
I love her to bits.
Visiting Disneyland tomorrow so expect more picture posts! :)
Less than 3 hours to sleep :x
Oh wells. Toodles!
Much loves.

Thanksgiving 2012
Two exams on Wednesday.
And you're not even half-way through your preparation.
It is at times like these that you feel the urge to update your blog.
Tsk tsk.
Human beings.
(**UPDATED: I decided to be a good girl and only post this after my exams, which is.. NOW! Yay! Lolol for syok sendiri :p)
I blame the holiday season.
Thanksgiving is a pretty big thing here, and it turns out that both my classes,
which falls on the day before Thanksgiving,
were cancelled.
I had nothing in mind, not like it meant anything to me, honestly,
but was fortunate enough to have Malina and Will invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner :)
And to secure our Thanksgiving dinner date for next year too! Lol.
We're blessed.
So anyway,
for those of you who don't know,
Thanksgiving is basically a day where the family comes together and..
well.. give thanks. Haha!
Food is a huge part of Thanksgiving (who said only Chinese emphasizes on food!)
Not much pictures taken though.
It was a pretty simple but eventful Thanksgiving celebration.
We had dinner,
followed by drinks and games and more drinks (oops),
and the next day we headed for Black Friday shopping.
Oh, and the shopping goes on and on and on..
All the way through Cyber Monday!
It's crazy!
It marks as well the official start of Christmas Shopping!

Can't wait for next week!!

A Berry Farm With No Berries
I'm finally blogging about Knott's.
Just a quick one before we start,
there are no berries whatsoever at this place.
My sister genuinely thought I was going to pick strawberries or something of that sort.
I know the name is a tad bit misleading. Haha.
It was a real sunny day!
Don't be fooled though, quite chilly.
All in all the perfect weather for a theme park outing.
Poor HP wasn't feeling too well that day.
Guess she caught my virus.
Oops. I'm sowieee.
But thanks for making the effort to have fun anyway!
Our first picture inside the theme park.
Despite being a national holiday (Veteran's Day),
the crowd was pretty okay.
Not too overwhelming!
Oh did I mention that all veterans and active military get in for free.
Tsk tsk.
The benefits they get really not play play one.
I know she's one of the characters from Snoopy,
but thanks to Will, I now know alot more about her. *smirks*
I love this place!
Compared to the other theme parks I've been to so far..
This has a more friendly and family-oriented ambience to it (especially when compared to Disneyland!)
It's not too big, and not too commercialized.
At first I thought the theme was "Snoopy",
but then I guess they don't really focus on a main theme.
I'll have to admit this isn't the best of pictures. (I look damnfat big-sized!)
But it's memorable cos it was right before our first ride!
Christmas decorations were up!
Not too apparent though.
You don't get the "Christmasy" vibe yet.
Some more random pictures of the park.
Pink and Green!
Basically the two colors that represent my sister and I.
And no, I did not get on this ride.
I don't do vertical drops.
*shudders*
Lunch!
Portion's quite big (decent for Americans I guess) so we shared.
We had Chicken Tenders and Fries.
On a sidenote,
I love how the sun made all these pictures so niceyyy! <3
And,
if you're a big fan of soda,
or refillable soda for that matter,
you should get this Snoopy Cup for only 7 bucks!
Its like a collection thingy and it entitles you to free refill all day long on the day of purchase!
Pretty good deal.
This was Will's cup btw..
Haha.
We did not want to risk puking on any of the rides,
hence we walked around and and tried our luck at some of the game stalls.
It's like those stalls you will find at a fun-fair / carnival,
you know, the type that that moves from city to city one?
Pretty old school but was really fun!
Not many pictures of other game stalls cos I was busy playing as well. LOL
And when Malina and I went for the Silver Bullet,
the twochickens continued at the game stalls.
But thanks to them we brought home Pinkedy and Pipi!
I just realized I don't have a picture of Pinkedy though..
If you're planning to visit Knott's anytime soon,
I would recommend to leave the Silver Bullet for last.
We kinda had to leave after that ride cos Malina and I wasn't feeling too well..
Haha.
Oh, and epic-est pic of the day, taken on Silver Bullet.
Some other pictures taken at Knott's.
All in all me lovey Knott's!
Definitely would be visiting again soon..
Thank you Malina and Will for letting us tag along! :)
After Knott's we went shopping at South Coast Plaza,
which was supposedly a quite atas mall,
and had nice dinner at a place where the waitresses scare us every now and then with their high-pitched screams.
But I'm getting a littlelazy tired so that'll be for the next post.
Teehee.
Have a great great Sunday y'all!
(for Malaysians the remaining of your Sunday that is..)
