It's your birthday, they said

Perhaps age plays a part,
where birthdays are no longer fantasies of surprises and massive hoo-hahs.

As most of you now know,
I spent it with the loved ones, in Bangkok, away from all familiarities.
It was simple, and quiet, and.. very much subdued.

Since when Birthday has become this occasion to retrospect into the past year, and look back to all that I have done? Or most importantly, have not done?

Turning 21. Photoshoot.

Have you not pondered on the purpose of life, like the TRUE reason you're here?
I don't know. This day has brought with it a type of invasive mellowness, and somehow I lament and ponder about the things, people, and relationships that one cannot control.

Time, it can miraculously heal yet mercilessly kill.

I know I'm blessed. I am grateful for all that I have.
Thank you God for all that you have put me through, for all that you have given me.
For all the wonderful people you placed in my life.
For loving me despite who I am inside.
Thank you.

And then I have so many to thank you. My family, my wonderful wonderful sister, the irreplaceable old one. Special thanks to Idiot Joanna Mah, for sending a birthday card about the weather in UK. I miss you so much! So so so much. For the Happenings and Shena, for calling me personally, though I couldn't answer, and sending me text messages despite me being overseas. For all the wishes on FB, though most of you would say its nuthin much really, but the fact that you took the trouble to drop a simple Happy Birthday means a lot to me! For people I did not expect to wish me, like Ms Lee, who wished me personally! And so much more. I'm blessed :)

My birthday weekend was wrapped up with a family dinner, nothing exceptional but definitely to be treasured.

Last but not least, Happy Birthday Carmen Kho! Cheers to a more challenging journey ahead. May you always live in the present, put your best into everything you do, and most importantly, live with no regrets!
